First day of 2010

For the first day in 2010 I have did many new things. If you do not know much about me (Chad Hatzenbuhler, Owner of Gasoline Magazine and Black Sheep Design) I am talented in the artistic and business world but when it comes to mechanical situations it is a foreign language. Don’t get me wrong I know many things about them but it is the simple stuff I never really got a chance to do. My writers for the magazine are very skilled in this area and today I decided to make it a goal to do some wrenching and get myself away from the computer and get some things done and this will be a goal all year that I hope to make myself add another successful thing under my belt.

Today I made my first gasket for a 63 Studebaker Lark! Wow, was this something I could do over and over, a lot of fun and something anyone could do. This Studebaker Lark is my mother-inlaw’s ride and my Father-inlaw (Tim Helbling) and I where doing some cleaning up on it today, well Tim was teaching me some simple stuff and by the end of the day I learned many new things that I never knew before. So what did I really do today? I made a gasket for the 63 Studebaker, rotated the tires and cleaned them off, learned how to grease bearings and many other things. It was a successful day and there will be more post like this coming to the Gasoline Magazine WTF and hope you will enjoy hanging out with us and before we know it, this Studebaker will be on the road again.

Happy New Years!
